02/22/2013 - F.D.A. Approves Breast Cancer DrugThe Food and Drug Administration has approved a new type of breast cancer medication that targets tumor cells while sparing healthy ones. The chemical keeps the cocktail intact until it binds to a cancer cell. It then releases the toxic chemotherapy drug to kill the cancer. Cancer researchers say the drug is an important step forward because it delivers more medication while reducing the unpleasant side effects of chemotherapy. Learn more about Kadcyla and the main clinical trial that led to its approval in a New York Times article from February 22, 2013. Read the New York Times Kadcyla article. |

We hope our patients find our website informative and user-friendly. Learn more about the Pew research. |

Breast thermography was approved by the FDA in 1982 only as an optional exam in addition to mammography. There are currently no studies supporting the use of thermography alone or in addition to mammography that show clear benefits of the technique. Read the FDA statement regarding breast thermography. |
