Interventional Oncology

RIA interventional oncology radiologists are highly specialized in utilizing minimally invasive techniques to treat cancer.

Interventional oncology is a relatively new specialty in which radiologists use minimally invasive techniques to treat cancer. These radiologists have completed additional fellowship training in interventional radiology after their radiology residency at some of the most prestigious institutions in the country.

With interventional oncology, interventional radiologists focus on the minimally invasive, targeted treatment of cancer. They combine image guidance with the most current innovations available and can treat cancerous tumors with little or no impact on other parts of the body. Since these techniques are delivered at the cancer site specifically, patients have fewer overall side effects.

Our interventional radiologists also participate in national trials for interventional oncology treatments and publish their data.
