Our interventional neuroradiologists are part of a local Neurointerventional Surgery team that is comprised of a multi-specialty group that also includes neurointerventionalists, stroke neurologists and neurosurgeons. Our services are closely integrated with the departments of Emergency Medicine, Neurosurgery, Stroke Neurology, Vascular Surgery, Trauma Surgery and ENT.
This comprehensive approach to managing the emergency care of brain trauma victims increases the options available to those patients. Advanced CT and MRI techniques allow these physicians to more quickly identify the source and extent of brain trauma. This enables them to react more quickly with the most appropriate treatments for the unique situation.
The interventional neuroradiology techniques performed by RIA neuroradiologists are some of the most technologically advanced options available today. They are much less invasive than surgical options and recovery is often shorter. They may also be used in some circumstances when surgery is not an option.
